Brush Country Youth Rodeo Association is a family oriented organization that strives to produce youth rodeos that support and promote the sport of youth rodeo for the kids of Atascosa and McMullen Counties. 

 

The purpose of BCYRA is to:

• Develop initiatives, self-reliance, sportsmanship and other traits of character.
   

• Experience the pride of owning and/or being responsible for the management of a horse. 
   

• Develop an appreciation of horseback riding as a healthy and wholesome form of recreation. 
   

• Learn skills in horsemanship and understanding of the business of training horses. 
   

• Promote greater love for animal and humane attitude towards them. 
   

• Increase knowledge of safety precautions to prevent injury to themselves, others and their horses.
   

• To be better prepared for citizenship responsibilities through working in groups and supporting community horse projects and activities.
